Some of you have been offered so-called fresh fish at a ridiculously low price. We have on occasion been told that we are much too expensive. The opposite is true.
What's going on here?
Budget companies illegally inject the fish with salt water and protein without telling you. It does not say for instance on the label that 30% salt water and proteins have been injected into the fish, even though it is legally compulsory to report this fact.
This is misleading and deceives the public. The fish shrinks, loses moisture and therefore weight as soon as it meets the frying pan. The consumer buys 30% water.
Goldbohm and Bastion do not do this. Together with a number of other fish suppliers, we have created the quality mark "Naturally 100% fish".
What does that mean?
We only supply fresh fish purchased at fish markets which comply with all the quality requirements of the HACCP and where the quality of the fish is checked. The fish is sorted when we as the supplier receive it. It is then packed and cooled in the correct way and sent to the buyer.

Never ever will we or colleagues also affiliated to the quality mark "Naturally 100% fish" inject or add anything to the fish. Buying cheap is buying expensive!
